Hammurabi’s code
Hammurabi’s code is very harsh. Compared to other laws, for example the Ten Commandments, are just a list of rules that you should follow. There is no mention of death or any harm that could be inflicted if you did not follow them. Hammurabi’s code was based completely around marriage and family vs other laws are based around the safety of the people living in that particular community or area. For example one of the codes in Hammurabi’s code is ¨If a son strike his father, his hands shall be hewn off¨ and it states the punishment that will happen unlike in the Ten Commandments It says ¨Thou shalt have no other gods.¨ Which plainly states a law that you are persuaded to follow.
